Grigor Dimitrov never felt comfortable comparing himself to the big four as the Bulgarian knew they were in their own league.
Despite not being fond of comparisons, Dimitrov quickly garnered the nickname baby Federer due to his playstyle that looks very similar to the Swiss maestro. Dimitrov was always lauded as a top talent and he was but he also never ascended to the level many thought he would when he arrived on the Tour. The Bulgarian still had a fairly decent career raising a career-high ranking of 3.
Speaking after his return to tennis Dimitrov admitted it was really good to be back out on the court and win. His last match happened at Wimbledon where a leg injury forced him to retire against Steve Johnson:
"I haven't competed in quite some time, so it's very good to come out and win a match."
He continued:
"I think the beauty in not only in our sport, but in all of the tennis players that each one of us is such different individuals. I think I never wanted to compare myself to any of the top guys, and I always said it. Like these guys, Roger, Rafa, Novak, I mean, Andy, I think all these guys, they are on a league of their own."
