Andrey Rublev defeated Dominic Thiem in the final of the Thiem's 7 in Kitzbuhel after the match was stopped due to rain.

After rain in Kitzbuhel stopped the 2nd semifinal match at Thiem's 7, it troubled players and fans also during the final match. Dominic Thiem faced Andrey Rublev in the spectacular final of the tournament.
While the Austrian was undefeated in Kitzbuhel, his opponent lost one match on his way to the final. The only match Rublev lost at Thiem's 7 was in the group stage against his final opponent, Dominic Thiem in two sets.
The final was a completely different story. Rublev kicked-off the match at a really fast pace and was hitting most of his forehands right where he wanted them to land. He had a total of 6 breakpoints in the first set, out of which he converted two to win the first set 6-2.
It seemed that Dominic Thiem found his rhythm in the second set when he had 3 breakpoints in the second game. However, he didn't use any of those and his opponent broke him in the next game. But the Austrian fought back to level the score of the set to 2-2.
In the 6th game, Thiem had another 3 breakpoints. And again he didn't convert any and his opponent converted the only break point he had in the next game and was only 2 games from winning the tournament when he led already 4-3. The score in the 8th game of the second set was 15-15 when the rain stopped the match.
After 2 hours, players returned onto the court again and Dominic Thiem confirmed the well-known fact that the rain delay is usually profitable for the player that is losing in the match. 'Domi' converted his 12th breakpoint in the second set and leveled the score of the set. Then, he also broke his opponent's service game to win the set 7-5.
As the match was troubled by the rain before, there was a super tie-break played instead of a full 3rd set. Rublev got the first mini-break of the super tie-break, however, Thiem soon fought back and leveled the score.
The Russian then got another two mini-breaks and led already 8-5 in the super tie-break. He didn't lose this lead to win the super tie-break 10-8 and become the champion of Thiem's 7.
