Gstaad Open finalists Casper Ruud and Matteo Berrettini have both pulled out of the Kitzbuhel Open to recover after a long week in Switzerland.
Matteo Berrettini and Casper Ruud both had long weeks in Gstaad reaching the final of the event. Both of them played well in the final but ultimately it was the Norwegian who proved better in three sets. Both were supposed to play this week in Kitzbuhel as well however both have now pulled out after the final.
It's nothing unusual as players usually take the week after a deep run off to recover, especially with such a crucial part of the season coming up. Neither of them really needs the points and resting up before the North American hard court season is important for both.
