Simona Halep and Rafael Nadal have been known as two of the finest clay-courters on both Tours, sharing the Roland Garros titles in 2018 when the Romanian celebrated in Paris for the first time.
Rafael Nadal stands on 13 Roland Garros crowns following the most recent one that came in October, winning 100 out of 102 encounters in Paris and dominating the beloved Major like no one before him. Praising Nadal, Halep said that Rafa could win three or four more titles in Paris, standing as the dominant figure year after year and proving his greatness once again this season.
Like never before, Nadal had to deal with both the opponents and harsh Parisian autumn weather, passing all the obstacles to defend the crown and secure the 20th Major. Rafa went even further, learning how to draw the most from his shots in cold and rainy weather and lifting the trophy without losing a set while becoming the third-oldest Roland Garros champion.
In the last three matches, Nadal worked hard against Jannik Sinner, Diego Schwartzman and Novak Djokovic, overpowering them all in the decisive moments to go all the way and enter history books.
"I strongly believe that Rafael Nadal will win more Roland Garros titles; it's his home. The conditions were tough for him this year, and he still didn't lose a set. I can see him winning the Parisian titles for a couple of more years," Simona Halep said.
