Launching to a decider 🚀 One set apiece between De Minaur and Sinner - who wins? @janniksin #SofiaOpen
Jannik Sinner came back from being down a set against Alex De Minaur while Adrian Mannarino battled past Albot to reach the Sofia Open semifinal.
Adrian Mannarino continued with great performances on indoor hard courts with another victory. This time he defeated Radu Albot 6-2 1-6 6-3 in just over two hours of play. It was a very fascinating match where Mannarino jumped out to an early lead which grew and became a 6-2 first set victory. The Frenchman played well and served well with Albot not being able to impose his style. He did however managed in the next set which he won with 6-1. Mannarino struggled with his serve and without a strong opening, he allowed Albot to keep the rallies longer which didn't favour Adrian. He adapted successfully in the final set upping his service level once more which proved enough to win the final set and match.
The 2nd match at the Sofia Open was a great match between Sinner and De Minaur. The first set opened with excitement as De Minaur took an early break but Sinner responded immediately in the next game. After that, both played well with Sinner the one who had a break point but Alex saved it. Games came and went and we found ourselves in a tiebreak where De Minaur played better and won deservedly 7-3. The 2nd set was a curious one where De Minaur played great throughout it but he also lost it. Sinner struggled on his serve often dropping points and having to overcome deuces while De Minaur kept games brief and short.
The only struggles he had was late in the 2nd when he actually lost his set. Now Jannik did not convert that lead into a 2nd set victory easily as De Minaur had chances and good chances to return to the 2nd set but he failed to use them and Sinner clinched it 6-4. Visibly upset from that he played a bad game early in the 3rd giving Sinner an early break point and a 2-0 lead. Sinner kept on coming hard and he broke Alex once more to take a 4-0 lead and from there it was not hard to end the match which he did with 6-1. A good continuation for Sinner in Sofia who has played well here
