Stefanos Tsitsipas will face Andy Murray in the 1st round of the US Open and the Greek is aware of the danger of the matchup.
Andy Murray has not been playing sensational tennis lately but the British player is still to produce good tennis from time to time. He played several matches ahead of the US Open and with each one has looked better. Stefanos Tsitispas is well aware of that and speaking ahead of the match he said:
"I'm focusing on what's next. This is way too deep to look into. Got to stay in the moment," he said. He's still on. He's someone that has been putting a lot of work in to get back and has been playing very good tennis to be standing where he's at right now."
Despite all of that Tsitsipas understands that right now he is the better player and the Greek won't change anything in his game for the matchup. He said he will simply go for it:
"I'm going to go for it, try my chances against him. He's someone that won't give up. I'll have to bring some good tennis from my side."
The matchup is one of the premier ones in the 1st round of the US Open and should be a good one. Murray upset Jannik Sinner at last year's US Open with a thrilling 5-set comeback.
