Rennae Stubbs praised the ATP for including the grand slam exception rule allowing Djokovic to play at the ATP Finals despite not finishing in the top 8.
Novak Djokovic will play at the ATP Finals despite not finishing the year in the top 8 rankings-wise and it's made possible due to the fact that he's a grand slam champion. As a grand slam champion, Djokovic only needed to finish in the top 20 to be able to play and he did just that.
Many players have indirectly questioned that with Cam Norrie and Nick Kyrgios both hinting at that being unfair but Rennae Stubbs praised the ATP for making the rule which ended up helping Djokovic play at the Finals She wrote her stance on Twitter:
"The @atptour@WTA
tours not allowing points at Wimbledon to me was so ugh but i am glad
the ATP at least allowed the rule of, if u win a slam u are in the
masters still, cause not having @DjokerNole compete would have been DUMB! feel badly for all the players that did well there."
