Already regarded as one of the greatest players of all time,
Roger Federer has also been deemed to have the best backhand slice in tennis history, according to renown coach Rick Macci.
Federer is known for having one of the best forehands in the sports, in addition to have a solid backhand groundstroke. However, the 20-time Grand Slam champion's backhand slice is often an underrated part of his game, as the shot has gotten him out of trouble on numerous occasions, allowing him to switch from defense to attack in the blink of an eye.
Nobody could slice it like Federer, according to Macci
Macci, who coached the likes of
Serena Williams and
Venus Williams in their early years, stated the Swiss Maestro had the slice backhand he had ever seen on the ATP tour.
"Was asked who had the best slice backhand of all time on the ATP TOUR. Nobody on planet earth could slice, dice, chop, pop, knife in their life than the surgical Swiss surgeon Roger Federer," tweeted Macci.
