Thanasi Kokkinakis continued his solid play in Indian Wells by winning another match comfortably 6-4 6-1 over the son of former player Tracy Austin - Brandon Holt.
Holt made a name for himself last year while qualifying for the US Open and beating Taylor Fritz in the first round. He's failed to live up to that level since then but from time to time he puts in a good performance. This time around he was very easily overwhelmed by Kokkinakis who is hitting a really good level right now.
The first set was won by Kokkinakis 6-4 who was utterly spectacular on his serve. He hit six aces and didn't lose a single point on his serve in the first set. 14 winners in total and only 6 unforced errors. Holt held up pretty well but he didn't manage to do that in the second set where Kokkinakis smashed him 6-1.
Kokkinakis had 9 aces in total and 27 winners which was just a spectacular showing from him overall. He's looking very good, especially when the serve is hitting as well as it is right now.
