Denmark’s tennis star Holger Rune shared an interesting
picture with the current world number one Novak Djokovic. The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the most highly-rated
players currently playing in the men’s singles category.
Rune shared a picture with Djokovic while training for the upcoming
event in Monte Carlo. The young Denish tennis star shared a picture in a similar pose
back in 2021 and in 2023 as well and therefore, the last post came with a caption
of ‘We keep the traditions, opening practice at Monte Carlo with @DjokerNole’.
Rune did not have a great start to his 2024 campaign. He was
knocked out of the first Grand Slam of the year—the Australian Open with a score
of 7-6, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
After that, he lost in the semifinal of an ATP event in Montpellier
to Borna Coric of Croatia as he had to retire in the second set.
Rune then lost in the round of 16 of the ATP 500 event in Rotterdam
to Alexander Shevchenko with a score of 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
The Gentofte-born then lost in the semifinal of the ATP 500
event in Acapulco, Mexico to Norway’s Casper Ruud with a score of 3-6, 6-3,
6-4.
