Dominic Thiem played some of his best tennis when he sported blonder tips in his hair and he teased that they might be coming back as a good luck charm.
Thiem has struggled with his tennis ever since coming back from a wrist injury and he seems open to try out the unconventional things that kind of worked in the past. The Austrian joked about bringing has his iconic haircut from a few years ago. It was at a time when his tennis was the best he ever played so perhaps the haircut was the reason for it:
"I played very well with those blonde tips. I am thinking about it constantly and everytime when I am at the hairdresser, I am thinking about it, 'Should I tell to the hairdresser, or shouldn't I?' It's constantly on the edge, you know, to get it back and I cannot promise it 100%, but it's possible that it comes again very soon."
He added:
"The first time I did it and I was completely blonde, I won Umag and Gstaad, and the last time I was blonde, I played Australian Open finals, so I’m always playing well with the blonde hair."
Time will tell whether Thiem brings the blonde back and whether it has any effect.
