Dominic Thiem and Andrey Rublev were victorious during the first day of Thiem's 7. While the Austrian outplayed Casper Ruud in two sets, his Russian opponent defeated Jan-Lennard Struff in three sets.

On the second day, they both received an opportunity to get to the top of the rankings in their group. In front of the home crowd, Thiem showed that he wants to win this event. After winning the first set 7-5, he continued to show his great tennis skill also in the second.

World no. 3 converted his only breakpoint in the 7th game and later denied the opponent's break opportunity to win the set 6-4. Thiem now leads the group as he's the only player in his group with 2 victories. In the second group, Matteo Berrettini is the only undefeated player.
