Dominic Tiem has been officially dropped from the Wimbledon entry list as the Austrian still struggles with finding his best tennis.
Dominic Thiem has never had that much success at Wimbledon to being with and the Austrian will miss the event altogether this year. Ironically his problems started during his Wimbledon preparations last year in Mallorca when he injured his wrist.
Ever since then it's been trouble for Thiem who nearly missed an entire year due to the injury. Even after returning his level did not improve by much despite several matches and a concentrated effort to improve. It's been a source of frustration for Thiem who spoke about it many times.
Recently on social media, he shared a positive update saying he's feeling much better mentally and practising really hard for a comeback. It seems it won't happen on grass and that might be a good thing as he lost more matches than he won at Wimbledon so far in his career.
It's better for him to focus on the North American hard court swing because he's a former US Open champion after all.
