Rafael Nadal's coach, Carlos Moya was thrilled to watch him come back and win against Medvedev and it reassured the Spanish tennis legend that this was not the final time he will do it.
With a performance that was not expected by many, Rafael Nadal proved once again that he was not done yet. After a long injury, Nadal’s chances in the 2022 Australian Open were very thin and with a record of winning just one title at Melbourne Park in his last five appearances, not many could see Nadal win his 21st Grand Slam in Australia.
Despite all of that, Nadal once again proved his greatness by winning an epic battle that lasted five hours and 24 minutes against the best performing player at that event in Daniil Medvedev. Talking to Spanish Radio Onda Cero, Moya said:
“I believe Nadal will win many more Majors. Our big goal is the French Open. We have to make sure that Rafa gets there in the best way possible. He is one of the favorites to win the title in every tournament he enters. I think this is not the last Grand Slam that I will see him win. I know very well who Rafa is and what he has accomplished in the history of tennis."
