Making his return to the US Open after not being allowed to participate last year, Novak Djokovic resumes his quest on cementing his position as one of the greatest of all time, as he continues to set new records at Grand Slam events.
The Serbian defeated Taylor Fritz to reach the semifinals in New York, surpassing Roger Federer with the most semifinal Major appearances as he now sits at 47. Djokovic already holds the most Grand Slam titles by a male player with 23, and also holds the record for making the most appearances at Grand Slam finals, having reached the final stage an astonishing 35 times.

Two more Major records remain in sight

With almost every record to his name, the 36-year old is a few matches shy of adding even more to his illustrious resume. Djokovic currently has 57 quarterfinal appearances at Grand Slams, second only to Roger Federer with 58.
Additionally, the Serbian has made a total of 72 Grand Slam appearances, keeping him tied at second place alongside Richard Gasquet. Trailing Federer and Feliciano Lopez, who are tied at first place with 81 appearances each, it will only be a matter of not if, but when the Serbian breaks those records.
