Frances Tiafoe had no trouble defeating Marcos Giron in the second round of BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells.
Tiafoe was last seen in Mexico, where he was defeated in the quarterfinals by his compatriot Taylor Fritz. After that, he traveled to California and began preparing for Indian Wells. Giron had also competed in Mexico but was eliminated in the first round by American Michael Mmoh.
The American was superb and did not give Giron any chances in the match. The result of 6-2, 6-2 in favor of 'Big-Foe' demonstrates the difference between the two players. The fourteenth seed broke his opponent's serve on four occasions and did not even concede a break point.
This will be the third consecutive time that the world No. 16 has reached the third round of Indian Wells, although he has never achieved a better result. His next challenge is against Australian Jason Kubler, who advanced after Dimitrov retired during the match.
