A couple of spectacular matches unfolded during the evening session at the Roland Garros with Tsitsipas coming back from being down two sets while Bautista Agut smashed Gasquet.
Stefanos Tsitsipas completed a stunning comeback at the Roland Garros after being down 2-0 against Jaume Munar. Stefanos Tsitsipas didn't have a great ending to his Hamburg European Open run where he practically gave away the title but today's victory should give him smiles. Jaume Munar gave him a lot of issues early on as Tsitsipas looked sluggish and a bit tired. He lost the first set 6-4 and the next with 6-2. It looked like his Paris stay was coming to an abrupt end but somehow he pulled back.
First, he let out all of his anger and frustration in the 3rd set winning it with 6-1 before playing another wonderful set in the next one which he won with 6-4. The momentum completely shifted in his favour and all notions of him being tired vanished quickly. He was flying all over the court increasing the desperation of Munar with every winner. The Spaniard put up a valiant effort in the 5th playing essentially only one bad game which proved crucial. The Greek ultimately won a sensational match which lasted only 3 hours which is rather quick for a 5 setter.
Joining him in the next round will be Roberto Bautista Agut who overcame Richard Gasquet in a match that started off shaky for him. He was down 5-2 in the 1st set before he finally started playing better. Once he did he never looked back winning the next set with 6-2. Gasquet was completely overmatched in the final set as one which Bautista won with 6-1. A spectacular and furious display from Bautista who marches on in Paris.
