Stefanos Tsitsipas began his 200th week inside the top 100 today and it proves that he's one of the most consistent players on the ATP Tour right now.
Tsitsipas has been part of the top of tennis for a few years now making his breakthrough back in 2019 when he made his way into the top 10 for the first time. He has never left the top 10 since then which shows how consistent he has been with his tennis. Every season saw him reach a final and score 40-50 wins per year making it possible.
200 weeks in the top 10
Since entering the top 10 in March of 2010, Stefanos Tsitsipas didn't leave the top 10. He's now been part of the top 10 for 200 weeks straight which is an impressive feat considering that even players like Medvedev weren't able to stay in the top 10 without dropping out at least once. Tsitsipa actually hasn't left the top 7 since he first entered it in 2019 either.
It's quite remarkable when you consider that he hasn't won that many big trophies in his career. He won two ATP 1000 trophies, the ATP Finals a few years ago and made two runs at grand slams advancing to the final including one this year.
Consistency
It's mostly because Tsitsipas prioritises consistency over everything. Being competitive every week is a goal of his and he talked about it a few times in the past:
"Consistency has always been at the top of my priorities
as a player, and it has been difficult to find that kind of secret
recipe where you get all the consistency and you can play consistently
week by week. But I think it’s something you build up with confidence,
with experience, and eventually, you just find the pattern. You find the
way it works for you."
