La famille Tsonga est heureuse de vous adresser ses meilleurs vœux pour 2021 😘
Former world no. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will not kick off the season at the Australian Open, still not feeling at 100% and deciding to take more time on the practice court.
Speaking about his career, Jo-Wilfried said he is proud of everything he has achieved in this crazy strong era, led by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. Tsonga has scored respectable 18 victories against the most prominent players from the previous 15 years, aware he could have won more if they didn't play tennis.
Jokes aside, Tsonga reminded he was always giving his best against the top rivals, mentioning his defeats but also victories over Roger Federer and the rest of the field. The Frenchman failed to score any wins in the season behind us, playing only two matches and struggling with a back injury to wrap up the action in September, hoping for a fresh start in 2021.
Jo-Wilfried is still not ready for competitive matches, although he feels motivated to extend his career and challenge the rivals from the top again.
"We have to be honest and say that I would have loved it if all these guys didn't exist. When you are world no. 5, you would have been close to the top without those legends around. Still, battling against them is also a source of pride.
Roger Federer beat me many times, but I beat him too. The same goes for Nadal, Djokovic and Murray. We have played in a crazy strong generation," Jo-Wilfried Tsonga said.
