Rafael Nadal is one of the best players to ever play the game of tennis and it is not a coincidence because even as a kid he showed the mentality of a true champion.
When you say the name Rafael Nadal so many attributes come to your mind. A champion, a fighter, the best ever and many more. Most of them are true because not only has Nadal demonstrated his mentality over the year it is something he carried with himself for a long time. When he won the Les Petits As (a premier tennis tournament for Juniors aged 12-14) at age 14 in 2000 he showed how much a true champion he is.
When asked what he was going to do now (after wining it) he said:
"I will continue training. It think this is a big tournament but winning this tournament does not mean I will become a good player. So I will continue the training and we will see."
Now almost 21 years later he is a true champion, a fighter who never gives up and somebody who many people will say is one of the greatest tennis players to ever play the game. All of that is possible because Nadal showed early on he understood what it takes to become all-time great. He invested thousands of hours into practice and it paid off. That is what true champions do and Nadal showcased that at the mere age of 14 years old.
