Carlos Alcaraz and
Novak Djokovic faced off in a near four hour epic at the
Cincinnati Open which saw the latter produce a spectacular comeback from the brink and this got the better of the Spaniard.
He was left bawling his eyes out on his towel after defeat to Djokovic at the Western & Southern Open. He broke early in the second and took the lead heading towards a championship point.
All signs pointed to him winning the title as Djokovic struggled with the heat, however he showed epic resolve to turn it around. Alcaraz saved four championship points in the final set before his resolve snapped.
Losing 5-7, 7-6 (9), 7-6 (7) in Djokovic's favour, he crossed the court to embrace Djokovic before his emotions got the better of him.
