Casper Ruud did extremely well in his
US Open opener moving past Yuichi Sugita with 6-3 6-2 6-2.
The Norwegian player is proving himself to be much more than a clay-court specialist. He has had several good showings on hard courts so far but his movement is not yet where it needs to be in order for him to contender on hard courts.
He demonstrated as such during his match against Sugita where suffered a very funny wardrobe malfunction. His reaction was even better during the rally and after the match, Ruud wondered about a rule that was not enforced at this point. Ruud's shoe fell off and play was not stopped and it should have been ruled a let.
In the end, Ruud lost the point but won the match and he finally learned the rule. Check it out below.
