Daniil Medvedev is currently facing off against Gael Monfils at the Monte-Carlo Masters, but despite having the better of the clash so far is not best pleased with umpire Mohamed Lahyani after a line-call went wrong.
The line judge seemed to get the call wrong against Medvedev. He was broken from 40-15 with a couple of double faults and then couldn't break Monfils from 0-30 up in the next game. As a result, he called Lahyani an 'asshole' and 'blind' but received no warnings.
Instead he received an apology from the umpire as he said: "I saw it catching the back" on the call. To which Medvedev retorted: “How can you apologize? I lost the freaking game. You guys are getting ridiculous. With Hawk Eye live you don’t see anything." He then grabbed hold of the umbrella smacking it and bringing it down showing his frustration at the line call and having a meltdown on the court surrounding it. It was a match that was already stopped due to LED lights flashing and causing a delay so it is all going on in Monaco.
