Daniil Medvedev is well known for letting his feelings become public knowledge on the court. From his infamous US Open interview to today at the China Open in Beijing.
Medvedev was beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in a fairly comfortable 7-5, 6-3 win over the Russian as the Spaniard who will rise back to World No.2 next week reached the final.
He will face either Jannik Sinner or Yunchaokete Bu who are currently facing off in the second semi-final so either his main rival or the home hero await.
But Medvedev had what was called his monthly rant as he vented at the umpire about line-calling and asked why the ATP pay for it. He said that he doesn't trust it and that it sucks.
Strong words indeed from the former US Open champion. “Why does ATP pay Hawkeye? Hawkeye sucks… don’t trust Hawkeye," he said.
