In England on Sunday, it was Father's Day and for
Andy Murray, he couldn't celebrate with his kids due to winning the
Nottingham Open.
Or so he thought. Murray spoke about getting home to see them before heading to Queen's early next week.
"Hopefully, I can get home to see my kids on Father's Day," he said in his winner's speech.
Only to hear some familiar voices in the crowd and his wife Kim Sears smiling and waving in the crowd. So in the end, his children did make it in a heartwarming moment.
Made more so by the fact that they missed Surbiton due to the rain where he also won the title.
"I didn't know they were here," he said both shocked and also emotional. "I had no idea they were coming. They came last week for the final at Surbiton—they turned up and it started raining, then they had to go home for the kids' bedtime and they missed the end of the match so it's great they could come today."
