Return of Alcaraz after cramp halts Roland Garros bid
No longer the World No.1 and also seeing his Roland Garros bid ending albeit without retirement in part due to cramping against Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz will return this next week at Queen's Club.
Alcaraz faces rising French star, Arthur Fils in the opening round in a battle of the future of tennis.
Speaking before the tournament, he said that he has less chance to beat Novak Djokovic and is 'not very experienced' and struggles on this surface.
Another player who will look to prove his metal on the surface is Holger Rune who is also among the top seeds.
Two players who have recently claimed titles this past week are Frances Tiafoe and home hero Andy Murray.
Murray is a well known feature at Queen's Club, usually alongside Feliciano Lopez in doubles and was a key battleground on his return after hip surgery.
Always adored by the British fans, he has had success in Surbiton and Nottingham over the past two weeks and faces his biggest tournament yet as he looks for seeding at Wimbledon.
Cameron Norrie is also involved, the notable absentee from a British end is Jack Draper who is fully absent from the grass court season.
One player who won't be in London though will be Matteo Berrettini with the defending champion who had such a superb grass court season the past two years failing to make it.
He left the court last week in Stuttgart in tears and seemingly is not yet fully recovered from the injury which has blighted him for most of this season.
Also the weather could yet threaten proceedings with thunderstorms amid the sunny weather in the UK potentially derailing the opening few days.
