Gael Monfils put in a spirited display but was resoundly beaten by Carlos Alcaraz 6-2, 6-4 on Monday night and he got to a point in the match where he was just laughing and marvelling at the brilliance of his opponent.
Monfils was left mesmerized by his stupidly good court coverage in particular and while considering his strategy mid- game, he was shown discussing his next move to which there was one simple fix. That was essentially go big or go home and it was the latter as even the coach of the Frenchman said that Alcaraz was everywhere in response.
"I need to go for really big I cannot pass him, it's crazy", Gael Monfils said during his 3R match against Carlos Alcaraz."He's everywhere", Monfils' coach added agreeing with his charge.
