An utterly superb sight as Rafael Nadal returns to the court for the first time in 349 days in singles action and a showcase that the fans still flock to see the great Spaniard was in full effect at the Brisbane International.
Nadal is facing off against Dominic Thiem in his return match in a highly anticipated affair and after he had a superb reaction when it came to his doubles loss with Marc Lopez, it was even bigger for his singles tie.
Met with a packed, roaring crowd, Nadal took in the reaction from his legion of adoring fans many of whom had Spanish flags and looked to be in tears seeing the 22-time Grand Slam champion.
This before he began going into his usual pre-match routine, a familiar sight to tennis fans and one that has been missed. How will he fare? Stay tuned to find out.
