With the news that Rafale Nadal will be making his much-anticipated return to the tennis courts in 2024 spreading like wildfire, there is much speculation on the condition and form of the Spaniard.
Nadal has been out of action since the 2023
Australian Open, as the former World No.1 dealt with injuries that saw him sidelined for the entire season. However, the 22-time Grand Slam champion recently announced he will be making his return to the ATP circuit, with the upcoming
Brisbane International and eventually 2024 Australian Open in his sights.
Not much has changed in the Spaniard's pre-serve pattern
Known for being one of the more methodical players on tour, the 37-year old is a stickler for tradition. Many fans were left wondering if he had made any changes or tweaks to his game and mannerisms during his time off. However, a recent video of Nadal serving showed the Spaniard had not made any modifications to his service motion.
Nadal often takes a considerable amount of time when serving, with his pre-serve action before each serve starting with him tugging at his shorts before moving the hair on each side of his face while bouncing the ball. The former World No.1 will only serve once this ritual is complete, and it appears Nadal will not be changing this procedure anytime soon.
