Alexander Zverev went golfing with Carlos Alcaraz: “I have good news everyone. We have a chance against him in golf 😂”
Alexander Zverev joked on social media after playing golf with Carlos Alcaraz. Both Zverev and Alcaraz are about to start their participation in the 2023 Canadian Open, which is being held in Toronto this year.
Both players took advantage of the days before the tournament to compete, but this time on the golf course. The German posted a photo on his Instagram stories with the world No. 1 Alcaraz, saying:
"I have good news everyone. We have a chance against him in golf," along with two laughing emojis.

Both players have faced each other five times, with three victories for Zverev and two for the Spanish player. Their first encounters were in 2021 at the main draws of Vienna and Acapulco, both won by 'Sascha' in straight sets.
After Alcaraz's breakthrough on the ATP tour, they met again in the final of the 2022 Madrid Open, and Alcaraz took the title with an impressive 6-3, 6-1 win. A month later, they faced each other in the quarterfinals of the French Open, and Zverev secured an incredible victory to set up a semifinal clash with Nadal, where he eventually got injured and missed the rest of the season.
Their most recent encounter was earlier this year in the round of 16 at the Madrid Open, and Alcaraz claimed victory with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 performance, at a time when Zverev was still in the process of returning to top form.
In Toronto, the first to debut will be the 26-year-old Zverev, who entered the tournament as the 13th seed and will face Tallon Griekspoor in the first round. The Dutchman reached the final of the Washington Open and will have little rest before facing the world No. 15.
'Sascha' comes into the event in good form after winning the ATP 500 Hamburg Open two weeks ago, which was his first title since the 2021 ATP Finals.
On the other hand, the world No. 1 will be playing his first tournament since winning the Wimbledon title, where he defeated Novak Djokovic in a memorable five-set final. The Spanish player, as the top seed in Canada, receives a bye in the first round and awaits the winner between Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles and American young star Ben Shelton in the second round.
