Andy Murray's
Wimbledon came to an with a crushing defeat to Denis Shapovalov where Murray really had no chance.
The Brit was always to string together a few good games in the first set to battle back from 1-5 to 4-5 and even force a few break points. But as well as Murray played during those games it was more of Shapovalov getting a bit nervous. Once the Canadian won the first set it was over for Murray.
He said:
"This week has been really good in some ways, but it's been frustrating too. I played two long matches, and it's really
significantly more than anything I have done in the last six months."
Murray said the two long matches took a toll on him and if he is not physically 100 % it's going to be hard to beat the best:
"If my game is not quite spot-on physically, I'm not perfect, or physically really fresh, it's going to be hard for me. It's extremely
frustrating, because I feel like I put a lot of work into getting to
this point, and then obviously to lose like that is tough."
However Murray also praised his opponent not wanting to take anything away from his performance:
"Being as good as he is, I don't want to take anything away from his performance. He played really, really well."
