Alexander Zverev wasn't surprised by his
Australian Open exit as he knew that he would struggle, especially if the matches were long and both of his were.
Zverev needs fine to properly find his footing in the professionals again as he missed a lot of time. It takes your body time to get used to that kind of effort again and he admitted that physically he's not on the level that he was before the injury. The loss came against Michale Mmoh who wasn early ousted in round one as well.
After the match, Zverev said:
"I didn't have any expectations. I didn't have any goals, and it was a good test for me. I
played a five-setter, and I know where I am physically. That's about
it. I guess I still have a long way back to where I was. My foot is healthy, but I'm not at the physical level that I was. I'm not as fast. Definitely my conditioning is not as good as it was. So I think I still have a long way to go to there."
