Alexander Zverev didn't have a very good time in Rome so he opted to take a wild card entry into the main draw of the
Geneva Open to get some more matches in.
It's very hard to explain what the problem with Zverev is but mostly it comes down to him not winning matches. He needs to win matches as that will give him confidence and he'll play better and then win some more matches. That is the main reason he opted to accept the Geneva Open wild card, in order to get in some more matches.
Hopefully there will be a few wins there as he tries to build himself up to where he was last year at this time of the year. He made a really deep run at
Roland Garros however it seems unlikely that he'll be able to repeat that.
The draw in Geneva is pretty strong with Ruud, Fritz, Shapovalov and others attending.
