Karolina Muchova will face Mirra Andreeva for a spot in the final of the
Ningbo Open after taking down
Anna Kalinskaya coming from a set down to defeat the Russian in a gruelling tie.
Muchova who has been one of the best players in the world since her return to action in June faced an intriguing test in Kalinskaya who has reached the top 12 in the world but also has shown inconsistencies in her game.
As well as being in and out of the tour with injuries and illness. But she raced into a hot start in the tie easing into a 6-2 lead against Muchova. But her serve started to let her down. Both players though weren't at their sparkling best and it became a bit of a war of atrition.
Muchova hit back and won the second set with two breaks of serve emphatically getting a set on the scoreboard claiming a 6-2 second set. Muchova went into the lead in the final set surviving break points early on before turning it around. She went 3-2 up breaking but from there, Kalinskaya started to fade and struggle and Muchova surged over the winning line.
It is a third semi-final in a row out of seven tournaments played and a fourth overall showing the utter class she has displayed. Next is Mirra Andreeva who won through after Barbora Krejcikova's retirement who hopefully will be good for Riyadh.
While we get Paula Badosa v Daria Kasatkina, two of the main protagonists sitting for the next reserve spot in the WTA Finals who won through earlier today.
