The
2026 Wimbledon Tennis Championships will once again be one of the highlights of
the summer sporting schedule in the United Kingdom.
The
ballot for tickets has already opened and fans will be clamouring to secure
their spot for the annual tennis extravaganza in London.
With
that in mind, read on as we show you how to buy tickets, the different
hospitality options and how to watch third Grand Slam of the season.
Wimbledon 2026: Dates
The
139th edition of the Wimbledon Championships will take place at the All-England-Lawn
Tennis and Croquet Club in London from June 29, 2026, to July 12, 2026.
Wimbledon 2026: Tickets
While
acquiring tickets for Wimbledon can be as difficult as scooping a jackpot on a
slots game, achieving the feat
is equally pleasurable.
As
fans of casino games will acknowledge, landing the right combinations is hugely
rewarding and the Wimbledon ticketing process can be just as satisfying.
There
are three ways to secure Wimbledon tickets - via the public ballot, through the
Queue or through hospitality tickets.
Public Ballot
The
public ballot system initially started in 1924 and remains the most common way
of buying tickets for Wimbledon.
Fans
can apply for tickets when the ballot opens for a limited time during September.
Tickets are not guaranteed and it is not possible to request tickets for
specific days or courts.
Places
are randomly assigned in February. You can only buy up to two tickets per
household and you need to pay immediately once tickets are offered.
The Queue
The Queue is an iconic part of the
Wimbledon tradition which offers fans the opportunity to buy tickets on the day
of play.
Tickets
are sold on a first-come-first-served, one ticket per person basis and cannot
be transferred to another person.
The
Queue starts in Wimbledon Park from the Sunday before the tournament starts. It
has become a social event and is a great way to buy tickets.
Hospitality
Wimbledon
hospitality packages are available in limited numbers and extremely expensive,
with prices starting at over £1,000 per person.
Every
hospitality ticket includes the minimum of a private table, access to the main
show courts and a dinner menu.
The
best tickets include a private suite, a four-course menu and chauffeur service.
Prices for this hospitality option are generally more than £2,500 per person.
Wimbledon 2026: How to Watch
Although
Wimbledon is a ‘bucket list’ experience for many tennis fans, not everyone is
fortunate enough to secure tickets for the event.
They
thankfully have a fallback option, with major broadcasters across the world
offering extensive coverage from the All-England-Club.
The
BBC has been the primary broadcaster of Wimbledon since 1937 in the United
Kingdom. They hold the broadcast rights for Wimbledon until 2027.
As
the country’s public service broadcaster, the BBC often focuses on the fortunes
of home-based players when they tournament is staged.
The
finals must be shown live and in full on terrestrial television by government
mandate. Live coverage apart from the finals can be bought by satellite or
cable television companies.
Tennis
fans in other countries are also well catered for, with numerous companies holding
the rights to broadcast Wimbledon matches in international markets.
