Statistics highlight an incredible achievement from Carlos Alcaraz, as they show he has already beaten every top 20 player at just 20 years old.
Current world No. 1 Alcaraz has been clearly demonstrating why he deserves his top status in recent months. The two-time Grand Slam champion defeated tennis legend Novak Djokovic in the final at Wimbledon 2023.
This was especially remarkable because his 36-year-old rival was strongly expected to take the victory at the All England Club, having won the grasscourt major four times in a row prior to this year, and seven times in total.
Alcaraz is also the youngest player to have ever held the position of world No. 1, a position that he confidently holds onto following his recent major win.

Impressive stat underlines Alcaraz's strength as a player

An incredible stat has now revealed something that drums up even more excitement around the young player, as it shows that the Spaniard has already beaten all of the top 20 players in the ATP rankings.
The last player that Alcaraz needed to defeat to claim this achievement was the world No. 2, a place currently filled by the 23-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic. Nevertheless, this was a feat that Alcaraz finally managed at the SW19 this year.
However, it was not the first time that Alcaraz had beaten Djokovic, as the 20-year-old defeated him at the Madrid Open last year when the Serb was world No. 1, meaning the 20-year-old could cross having a win against the first-ranked player off his list.

The next big star in tennis?

This stat also comes after the young player won against the likes of Casper Ruud, Daniil Medvedev, Holger Rune and Alexander Zverev, among many other big names in the tennis world.
Undoubtedly such an achievement will only continue to fuel hopes that Alcaraz could be the next big star in the men's singles following the dissolution of the Big Three, with Roger Federer retiring and Rafael Nadal out due to injury.
