🇪🇸 Carlos Alcaraz 🆚 Tommy Paul 🇺🇸 ¡El español ya tiene rival para el #TennisFestGNP en la Plaza México! #Viviresincreíble @GNPSeguros
Carlos Alcaraz and Tommy Paul are set for an exciting showdown once again, this time in an exhibition event in Mexico. Caroline Wozniacki y Maria Sakkari will also participate.
Following a highly successful 2022 edition in which Rafael Nadal faced Casper Ruud, it is now confirmed that Alcaraz will headline the Tennis Fest in Mexico City this year. The event will take place on November 29th at the Plaza de Toros (Bullring) Mexico.
Tennis fans in Mexico will be delighted to have the two-time Grand Slam champion participating in the event. They missed the opportunity to see Alcaraz in action earlier this year after he withdrew from the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco due to injury.
Previous reports had suggested that the Spaniard would take to the court against his arch-nemesis Jannik Sinner in the upcoming exhibition event.
However, it has now been announced that Carlos Alcaraz will face Tommy Paul, who was the runner-up at the ATP 500 in Acapulco this season. The American is also one of the only six players who defeated Alcaraz in 2023.
The match is reported to be the only exhibition event that Alcaraz will participate in this year.
Another highlight of the upcoming Tennis Fest in Mexico City will be the women's clash. Former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki, who recently came out of retirement, will face Maria Sakkari, the newly crowned champion of the WTA 1000 Guadalajara.

Tommy Paul recently spoke about the budding rivalry he is forming with Alcaraz, with whom he has a head-to-head record of 2-2, all in Masters 1000 events, including three encounters in 2023:
"He's certainly a complete player. You know, the matches that we have played has been really tough ones. He's a really solid player. Has great talent, great shots. You know, he's really, really fast as well. So he's one of the best players in the world right now. I mean, he's a mix of everything," the World No. 2 said in a press conference.
"It helps knowing you can beat your opponent," Paul said. "You never want to walk on court & be like 'I don’t know if I can beat this guy.' It’s kind of the attitude you’ve got to have no matter who you’re playing," he said.
