Nadalcaraz? The Spanish pairing everyone is talking about

The partnership between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz is one of the most anticipated at Paris 2024. The Spaniards are preparing for an unprecedented collaboration, aiming to win a medal in doubles, while both will also compete in the singles main draw.
Upon arriving in Paris, the 21-year-old shared photos of himself with the 14-time French Open champion. Other athletes from different Olympic events also wanted to take photos with both tennis stars, which were widely shared on social media. Sabalenka dazzles with footwork skills

Aryna Sabalenka awaits her participation in the WTA 500 Washington Open, where she will be the top seed after confirming her absence from the Olympic Games to focus on her health following an injury that kept her out of Wimbledon.
The world No. 3 has now shared a video of herself on a hardcourt, showcasing her impressive footwork skills as she keeps a ball from hitting the ground with her feet. “We take footwork very seriously around here,” she captioned.

Andreescu’s Olympic dream comes true

Bianca Andreescu has often confessed that one of her biggest dreams was to reach the Olympic Games. The Canadian arrived in Paris a day ago and today shared a video from the Philippe Chatrier court at Roland Garros.
Andreescu made her return to the WTA Tour just two months ago after a 10-month hiatus due to a lengthy recovery from a back injury. At 23 years old, she will have the chance to compete in the Olympics for the first time, in a venue where she recently achieved good results.
At the recent French Open, her first tournament since August 2023, she defeated clay-court specialist Sara Sorribes Tormo and then the 23rd seed Anna Kalinskaya. She was defeated in the third round by the eventual runner-up Jasmine Paolini. Here you can find Andreescu’s video from the Central Court at Roland Garros, where the Olympic tournament will be held.

World No. 22 Beatriz Haddad Maia has suffered the loss of her suitcase upon arriving in Paris for the 2024 Olympics. ‘Bia’ shared on her Instagram story that the suitcase is still at Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo, but the airline has yet to recover it.

I need my suitcase for the Olympics! Thanks to the BOC for their support.”
The Brazilian's complaints come just three days before the start of the Olympic Games: “Swiss Airlines, where is my suitcase? #SwissAirlines where is my luggage for the Olympic Games?” the former world No. 10 added.

Gauff and Team USA stars shine in TikTok video

Coco Gauff shared a video on TikTok with her Team USA tennis teammates. In the video, she is seen making a presentation with Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro, Danielle Collins, and doubles specialist Desirae Krawczyk.
Gauff will compete in the singles draw as the second seed of the tournament and will also play doubles alongside Jessica Pegula. The 21-year-old is Team USA’s main medal hope in tennis, having reached the singles final at Roland Garros and recently winning the doubles title with Czech player Katerina Siniakova.

Andy Murray receives heartfelt tributes from tennis colleagues

Andy Murray has announced that Paris 2024 will mark his final appearance as a professional tennis player. The two-time gold medalist revealed he will retire after the Olympics, where he will compete in both the singles and doubles draws alongside Dan Evans.
The former world No. 1 shared a nostalgic photo on Instagram, reminiscing about his gold medal win at the London 2012 Olympics, where he triumphed over Roger Federer on the Wimbledon grass. His post received warm tributes from several peers.
“Legend Sir Andy,” wrote Stan Wawrinka, while Juan Martin Del Potro commented “Sir Andy” with a gold medal emoji. Other players, including Denis Shapovalov, Holger Rune, Karen Khachanov, Fernando Verdasco, Sabine Lisicki, Andrea Seppi, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, and Jenson Brooksby, also added their messages of support, which you can find on his Instagram.

Team USA Men's Tennis: Ready for Olympic glory

The Team USA men's tennis squad also gathered, though with a bit more seriousness than their female counterparts. A photo shared on social media shows them in their official United States Olympic attire, featuring Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, Christopher Eubanks, Marcos Giron, and doubles specialists Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram.
The last time the men's tennis team won a medal in Olympic singles was in Athens 2004 when Mardy Fish took silver after losing to Chilean Nicolás Massú in the final. To recall the last gold, one must go back to Atlanta 1996 when Andre Agassi defeated Spain's Sergi Bruguera in the final.
However, they did secure gold in 2012 thanks to the legendary Bryan brothers. Additionally, the USA won bronze medals in doubles in 2008 and 2016.
