The full list of wildcards has been confirmed for 2024 Indian Wells Open (BNP Paribas Open) headlined by Emma Raducanu and Paula Badosa in the latest announcements made by the tournament.

Raducanu hinted at the announcement earlier today when she posted on her Instagram story flying over Los Angeles towards California, she is set to play Miami Open anyway due to a wildcard through her management IMG but now will play both. After losing to Anhelina Kalinina in Doha, she instead of playing lower level or getting match practice in during San Diego or Austin seemingly was waiting for the call.

Badosa is a 2021 champion and was the standout story during that year facing off against Victoria Azarenka in one of the best finals seen in the desert during recent years. It is a slightly puzzling one though with the Spaniard left in tears after retiring in Dubai in her latest setback so whether she makes it to the court will remain to be seen.

Karolina Pliskova and Amanda Anisimova are the other two main names alongside Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams. Both previously announced with the former World No.1 producing epic form to win in Cluj and then reached the semi-finals in Doha the following week. She lost in the Last 16 to Coco Gauff in Dubai last time out and has been on the rise again in the rankings.

Anisimova after most of 2023 out made her return to tennis in January at the Australian Open after a break due to burnout, fatigue and mental health due to the rigours of the tour. She initially got in with a special ranking, but withdrew recently and has now received a wildcard. She was set to play lower level in Mexico recently in a WTA 125 but withdrew due to injury. Also on the WTA side, Ashlyn Krueger and McCartney Kessler who are both on the rise also receive wildcards.

In the Men's, Dominic Thiem is one who perhaps has missed out. He will play challengers instead with Brandon Nakashima leading the way. He is followed by Fabio Fognini, Doha standout Jakub Mensik as well as Americans Patrick Kypson and Aleksander Kovacevic. Running from March 6-17, 2024, the Sunshine Double draw will be completed on Monday March 4 at around 12am CET.
