Caroline Wozniacki made a comeback to the sport earlier this month and says she's just focusing on the present as she heads into the US Open.
Former world No. 1 Wozniacki initially retired from the sport three and a half years ago in 2020. Since then, she has enjoyed a life away from tennis tournaments and welcomed two children with NBA star husband David Lee.
However, in June of this year, the 33-year-old announced that she would be returning to the sport before making her comeback at the Canadian Open in early August.
Wozniacki has previously stated that she would like to play for Denmark at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where she wants to team up with her compatriot Holger Rune in the mixed doubles event.
However, the Dane also stressed that she is not putting a time limit on her career and has no idea how long she'll continue to play for.
"I don't know how long I'm going to play for. I don't know if it's going to be a year, two years, three years. I can't predict the future," she said, "I'm just enjoying being here in the moment."
The 2018 Australian Open champion has received a wild card for the last Grand Slam of the season where she will Tatiana Prozorova in the opening round.
With her return to tournaments, Wozniacki hopes to join other mums on the WTA Tour such as Elina Svitolina and Victoria Azarenka who are showing that you can come back after having a child.
"I'm just proud that we are quite a few mum's on tour that have paved the way for the future generation that it's possible to take a break, have a family, then come back," she said.
