The former world no 1 hopes to overcome his injury woes as he's eager to play in Grand Slams again.
Andy Murray says he wants to play in the Grand Slams again as he continues to be sidelined with a hip injury.
Murray underwent surgery last year January to treat a hip injury. He returned to playing after that but discomfort in his hip meant he had to withdraw from tournaments. The last tournament he participated in was the 2019 Davis Cup finals.
Now, there's a possibility he might undergo surgery in the coming weeks to remove bone growth in his hips. The hope is that the second treatment will be a definitive treatment and allow him to compete again.
“I want to play in the Slams again,” Murray told the BBC. “That is the thing that I have missed over these last few years. Missing the Australian Open for me this year was rough. At the end of last season I was actually starting to play pretty well, I was feeling good and then this happened."
Murray said he doesn't want to give a time frame for his return. He just wants to take his recovery one step at a time.
“I have become quite pessimistic about time frames, issues and stuff because of what has gone on really and what has been said to me,” he added. “I don’t want to say I will definitely be in Miami playing but there is also the possibility that I might have to have something done. We’ll just have to see."
