3x Champion Sabalenka extends record to 19-0

The undisputed Queen of Wuhan continues in the competition, following another convincing victory for Aryna Sabalenka. The World No. 1 took a long break after winning the US Open title a month ago, and only returned this week in Wuhan—where she is the 3-time defending champion. She achieved a 19-0 record in the tournament, after comfortably defeating 16th seed Liudmila Samsonova 6-3, 6-2. Sabalenka will seek a new victory in the quarterfinals against Elena Rybakina, one of her biggest rivals, with whom she holds a 7-5 head-to-head record in favor of the Belarusian.
