The schedule for Day Six at the Indian Wells Open has been confirmed for Monday, March 10, marking the second day of the third round and the return of top stars. The standout matches include Carlos Alcaraz taking on Denis Shapovalov and Coco Gauff facing Maria Sakkari.

Several big names remain in contention for glory at Tennis Paradise. Monday's lineup features the return of players such as Jack Draper, Aryna Sabalenka, Ben Shelton, Emma Navarro, Madison Keys, and Alex de Minaur.

The day’s action kicks off with 13th seed Jack Draper, who delivered a dominant performance against teen sensation Joao Fonseca (6-4, 6-0). The British No. 1 now faces a resurgent Jenson Brooksby, who is finding his rhythm again after serving a suspension for missing three doping tests. The American, playing on home soil, recently eliminated 17th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Up next is World No. 3 and local favourite Coco Gauff, who faces none other than two-time finalist Maria Sakkari. It’s a tough challenge for the Greek, who has struggled with consistency over the past year and is defending a significant amount of ranking points. A loss could push her out of the top 50. Gauff, on the other hand, was far from convincing in her opening match against Moyuka Uchijima, committing 21 double faults and 75 unforced errors. The mental aspect of the game will be crucial for both players in this encounter.

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will be the third match of the day, going up against Lucia Bronzetti in what seems like a one-sided contest on paper. The Italian took down 30th seed Magdalena Frech and is aiming for her first-ever win against a top-10 opponent—a monumental task for the World No. 62. Sabalenka has yet to hit top form, struggling in her opener against Kessler, but once she finds her rhythm, she’s nearly unstoppable. This will be a good test for the Belarusian against one of the lowest-ranked players in the third round.

The night session will feature a blockbuster clash between four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz and Denis Shapovalov. The two-time defending champion made light work of Quentin Halys in his opening match and appears to be in great shape as he aims for a third consecutive title in Indian Wells. Shapovalov, however, seems to be back in form, winning nine of his last ten matches and recently capturing the Dallas Open title.

The day’s action on Stadium 2 begins with reigning Australian Open champion Madison Keys facing the always-dangerous Belgian Elise Mertens. The American impressed in her opener against Anastasia Potapova (6-3, 6-0), extending her winning streak to 13 matches. She’ll need to stay focused from the start against an experienced opponent like Mertens.

Next up, World No. 4 Taylor Fritz—America’s top hope for a home title—takes on a struggling Alejandro Tabilo (30th seed). The Chilean snapped a six-match losing streak with a win over Dusan Lajovic in his opener. Fritz has won all three of their previous encounters and, if he maintains the level he showed against Matteo Gigante, he will be the clear favourite.

More American players will feature later in the day. First, 11th seed Ben Shelton faces Russian 22nd seed Karen Khachanov in their first-ever meeting. Then, Emma Navarro will look to give the home crowd another reason to cheer as she takes on Paris 2024 silver medallist Donna Vekic. A potential win could set up an all-American clash against Madison Keys in the fourth round—provided Keys gets past the test of Mertens.
