It is Day Five at the DC Open with rain delays meaning that for some players, it will be a double dose of action on Friday.

TennisUpToDate runs through the schedule for the DC Open which sees both ATP and WTA in the first-ever combined 500 tournaments with the Last 16 being sewn up and the Quarter-Finals starting.

Top seed on the WTA side, Jessica Pegula will be in action aiming to reach the semi-finals in the first match of the evening. But faces a tough test.

That being the star of the summer Elina Svitolina who barring a poor run in Birmingham has reached the latter stages in every tournament since the return. She saw off Daria Kasatkina last up who she made an 8-0 Head 2 Head against.

Pegula holds a 2-1 record against Svitolina with their most recent meeting being at Indian Wells back in 2021 which was won by the former 6-1, 6-1.

Taylor Fritz v Andy Murray as well as Juncheng Shang facing Frances Tiafoe were due to be headline acts last night, but rain means that they will play in the evening on Friday.

Fritz holds one win back in the ATP Masters 1000 event in Canada last year sealing it 6-1 6-3.

The winner of the latter will face the winner of Alexander Shevchenko or Dan Evans in the final match of the evening.

In between Coco Gauff will face off against Belinda Bencic in the other Quarter-Final tie.

On the outside court, Maria Sakkari starts off against Leylah Fernandez. While Christopher Eubanks follows up in a last 16 tie against Jordan Thompson.

Marta Kostyuk and Madison Keys are also involved, with the victor of Fritz-Murray ending proceedings off against Eubanks or Thompson to play twice in one day.

That will be a Quarter-Final tie between the pair and will end the schedule off.
