Jannik Sinner had to withdraw from the Halle Open against eventual champion Alexander Bublik, but it seems it was very much a precautionary measure.
Sinner has confirmed today on Monday (26 June) that he will be ready for
Wimbledon where he was set to be one of the favourites for the title due to his grass court prowess.
But medical examinations done in the intervening days have found no issues. He said on Twitter that he did what was right for his body and had a few days rest but is now ready to head to London. Good news for the Italian.
"Thank you Halle for the opportunity to play last week. Hope to see you next year. Never easy to withdraw, but I had to do what was right for my body in that moment. After a few days rest & consulting my doctor, I’ll be fit and ready for Wimbledon," said Sinner on Twitter.
