Slams won since 2011: Djokovic: 23 Nadal and Federer combined: 17 This was never a Big 3 era. We are in the Novak Djokovic era.
While Novak Djokovic appreciates being World Number One, it isn't the be all and end all for the 24-time Grand Slam champion he admitted post US Open.
Djokovic continued his record-breaking run sealing another Grand Slam at the US Open defeating Daniil Medvedev before doing what many didn't and hot footing it to Spain to play Davis Cup.
He will begin his campaign today, but despite also returning to World No.1, he said it as a 'bonus' over a 'priority'. He called it a perfect year even saying that despite not winning Wimbledon, he holds it in high regard as he made the final.
"For me, ending the season as No.1 in the world would be like the bonus to a great season, but it's not the priority. My priority was to win the top Grand Slam titles this season. I won three and in the fourth I made the final. It has been a perfect year for me, in addition to now competing for my country. Everything that comes from now on will be a bonus," said Djokovic.
