Speaking on ATP Radio, world number 3, Dominic Thiem revealed how he felt about his losses in the Australian Open and Roland Garros finals.

26-years-old Austrian is the youngest player in the Top 4 of the ATP Ranking with the Big Three around him. Thiem already played in 2 Roland Garros finals, in 2018 and 2019 and in the Australian Open final this year.
While he lost 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 in his first final at the Roland Garros to Rafael Nadal and 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 in his second, he was really close to winning in his third Grand Slam final. In the 2020 Australian Open final, Thiem faced Novak Djokovic and was up 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 with a breakpoint in the 3rd game of the 4th set.
But the Serbian showed his experience and won the match 6-4, 4-6, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 to lift his 17th Grand Slam trophy. Now, Dominic Thiem spoke on an ATP Radio about how he feels about his losses in the Grand Slam finals.
"Getting to the Australian Open final is the biggest achievement of my career. I had to overcome some difficulties on and off the court. I beat three top-10 in a row and then lost to the best player in the history of that tournament in five balanced sets”, said Thiem.
“It was painful to lose the Australian Open final. I suffered a lot after that. I was very far from winning in the Roland Garros, but I was two sets to one up in Australia, with a breakpoint in the fourth set. It was tough, but on the other hand, I lost only to Nadal and Djokovic in Grand Slam finals. After remembering that, it was easier to digest," Thiem said.
