Stefanos Tsitsipas has voiced his opposition to coaching from the stands potentially being implemented going forward after the women's tour began to use it.
Tsitsipas believes that there is no need for them to follow this example; as well as that it is unfair for lower ranked players if this is used.
“I quite like tennis the way it is right now. I think the player is the one who should be trying to find solutions when he’s playing.” He said during an interview The Times of India.
“I feel like if certain players can afford better coaches, it’s going to be the battle of the coaches, not so much the battle of the players. That’s what makes the sport pure the way it is right now.”
While the Greek ace currently is coached by his father Apostolos Tsitsipas; he also receives guidance from Patrick Mouratoglou who shares a different view; is well known for it after Serena Williams received a code violation for receiving just that. He said the following below on social media recently.
