Novak Djokovic will open his
United Cup campaign on New Years Eve and he stumbled into the Chinese winning team press conference prompting a hilarious response from Qinwen Zheng.
'Queenwen' led her country to their first Group E victory over Czech Republic on Saturday, December 30. She defeated Marketa Vondrousova after Zhizhen Zhang who has also established himself as one of the best rising stars on the tour saw off Jiri Lehecka. They then paired up against the players they defeated in singles to seal the win. They will now face Serbia on December 31.
Djokovic waved at the Chinese Number One from the doorway ahead of their clash and as soon as the 24-time Grand Slam champion left the room, she hilariously told him to come back as she hadn't got an autograph yet.
"Idol! Please don't go! I haven't got your signature yet," she said laughing prompting laughter from the press conference room including from Zhizhen Zhang. Djokovic will team up with Hamad Medjedovic, Nikola Cacic, Olga Danilovic, Natalia Stevanovic and Dejana Radanovic and will start his season there before heading to the Australian Open.
