Andy Murray had a creative interaction with fans during his DC Open preparation as he found himself signing a beer can.

Former world No. 1 Murray has been reminded of the dedication of some of his fans in a hilarious way. The British player is a three-time Grand Slam champion, with one US Open and two Wimbledon titles to his name.

Although he has since had to endure some serious injuries and a difficult surgery that have stopped him from re-gaining the level of success he had when he reached No. 1 in the ATP rankings at the end of 2016, the Scot's resilience and love for the sport has seen him keep playing, and his fans continue to support him.

Fans find new ways to get Murray's autograph

This support was on full display recently as fans came to watch the 36-year-old prepare for the DC Open, an ATP 500 event at which Murray is set to play in both men's singles and doubles.

A video has emerged of Murray interacting with fans in the crowd, during which someone passes down a beer can to the player. In the video, he calmly accepts the can and signs it before passing it back up to the crowd member. Meanwhile, laughter can be heard in the background as others react to the bizarre exchange.

Murray hopes for a good run at DC Open

This interaction has become a strangely sweet moment in Murray's narrative at this tournament, as he hopes for a good run in what has been a mixed season so far.

There have been many positives, with Murray winning his first title since 2019 at the Aix-en-Provence challenger, defeating first seed Tommy Paul in the final 2-6, 6-1, 6-2. Moreover, there was a lot of excitement around the player in the run up to Wimbledon, with some claiming Murray looked to be in the best form he'd been in for a while.

However, Murray was ultimately left disappointed at the SW19, as he went out after a five-set thriller in his second round match against world No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Whether or not the DC Open will go well for Murray remains to be seen, but there is little doubt that his fans will be supporting him all the way regardless.
